(HBO 1984 - Produced by Norman Lear) This LONG LOST classic has not been seen on television since the early 1980's!

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SCREEN CAPTURES Joe Sears and Jaston Williams created a hilarious stage play called “Greater Tuna” in which the fictional town of Tuna Texas is populated by townsfolk who all look like they were played by two people! On stage this effect was accomplished by lightning-fast costume changes, but in the HBO Special several characters are able to interact with one another by use of Special FX. Norman Lear (“All in the Family” creator) wanted to bring this town to television, it seems that he was trying to create a new series but no one knows what happened. Joe Sears and Jaston William created the characters, but Norman Lear produced this special. Unfortunately this special has been in limbo ever since. Here is the LONG LOST HBO Tuna Special that fans have been wanting for many, many years. It has been occasionally seen on Ebay and other sites for between $60 to $100. I offer this title to you for only $10! The DVD quality is very good (considering that the original source is from 1984). But as you can see from the screen captures, the quality is excellent. NOTES: I fell in love with this TV special in 1984 when it ran on HBO. Since 1997 I have been trying to track down any information on "Greater Tuna". I have learned that there have been three stage plays: "Greater Tuna", "A Tuna Christmas", and "Red, White and Tuna" Which is still playing on a stage near you! These two men have done a wonderful job since the early 80's and are still performing this wonderful play today. There are VHS and DVDs of both "Greater Tuna" and "A Tuna Christmas" that can be bought online through many sources. I suggest that you buy them. I own them, they are hilarious! And the story is slightly different than the HBO version. This DVD (The HBO SPECIAL), however, is not available to buy on VHS or DVD commercially, and hasn't been seen on television since 1984 or 85!
