Any Mother's Son (1997 TV Movie) - Any Mother's son is the true story of US Navy Seaman Allen Shindler who is murdered by two of his fellow seamen while on shore leave from his post in Japan because he was gay, it is then up to his mother, sister and the help of a reporter to ensure that the Navy carry out the justice that is due against the murderers. It is a well made, factual and emotional true to life film and is worthy of the award it one for outstanding made for TV movie.  90 minutes    $10.00

The Fox (1967 Widescreen) - Based on D.H. Lawrence's novella about two young women - sickly, chattering Jill Banford (Sandy Dennis) and quiet, strong Ellen March (Anne Heywood) - who are trying, hopelessly, to run a chicken farm in Canada. A gentle but powerful man Paul Renfield (Keir Dullea) who used to live on their farm returns and puts things in order. But his proposal of marriage to Ellen awakens the lesbianism dormant in the girls: Jill uses her weakness to make Ellen feel protective, and the women become active lesbians. 110 minutes  (Originally rated X due to subject matter - this movie is  Rated R  today)     $10.00

 

 

A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story (2006 TV Movie) - Based on a true story. As a young boy, Eddie Araujo always felt different somehow. He started putting on his mom's makeup and wearing his mom's clothes, which his mom found odd. By the time he entered his teen years, Eddie could no longer hide the fact that he was a lot different, that he was meant to be female and not male. When he finally accepted it and with his mom's eventual support, Eddie changed his name to Gwen and started to live life as female until a tragic night changed everything. J.D. In the Gloaming (1997 TV Movie) - (Note: "Gloaming" is a Scottish term for Twilight.)  Directed by Christopher Reeves, a young man dying of AIDS, comes home to be with his family and to die.  Includes behind the scenes with the stars and a look at Christopher Reeves' directing of the movie. Stars Glenn Close, Bridget Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg, Robert Sean Leonard, David Strathairn.  67 minutes.    $10.00

 

 

Last Exit to Brooklyn (1989 Widescreen) - Taken from Hubert Selby, Jr.'s controversial novel. A gallery of characters in Brooklyn in the 1950s are crushed by their surroundings and selves: a union strike leader discovers he is gay; a prostitute falls in love with one of her clients; a family cannot cope with the fact that their daughter is illegitimately pregnant. 102 minutes    $10.00

Love and Human Remains (1993) - Set in a dreary urban landscape of an anonymous Canadian city, LOVE AND HUMAN REMAINS is a dark comedy about a group of twentysomethings looking for love and meaning in the '90s. The film focuses on roommates David, a gay waiter who has has given up on his acting career, and Candy, a book reviewer who is also David's ex-lover. David and Candy's lives are entangled with those of David's friends (a busboy, a psychic dominatrix, and a misogynistic civil-servant) and Candy's dates (a male bartender and a lesbian schoolteacher). Meanwhile, a serial killer menaces the concrete and asphalt neighbourhood in which David and Candy live. 100 minutes      $10.00

Rock Hudson (1989 TV Movie) - Biography of actor Rock Hudson focuses on his struggle with his homosexuality. Based on the book by his ex-wife, Phyllis Gates, and on the court records from the civil suit brought by his former lover, Marc Christian.  Starring Thomas Ian Griffith.    $10.00

 

 

Staircase (1969 Widescreen) - Charles Dyer (Rex Harrison) and Harry Leeds (Richard Burton) are a couple that have been living together for nearly 20 years. Both earn a living as hairdressers in the West End of London and both care deeply for their mothers, but not each other as time apart takes its toll on their relationship when Harry has to care for his invalid mother who snips at him every chance she gets. 100 minutes      $10.00

These Old Broads (2001 TV Movie) -  After a re-release of their 60's film hit "Boy Crazy" becomes a smash, three actresses (Debbie Reynolds as Piper Grayson, Shirley MacLaine as Kate Westburn and Joan Collins as Addie Holden) reunite for a reunion show, with help from Kate Westburn's son and their manger, Beryl Mason (Liz Taylor). Children keep secrets from their parents so they won't upset them, dads leave for other women and moms try to run over dads with the car. Actually, that was the point when the Crumb family knew Mom was crazy.       Paul married?  WIth Kids?  - What were they thinking!

The Paul Lynde Show (1972-74) - Paul Simms (Lynde) was a quiet and respectable attorney and a partner in the firm of McNish and Simms. He lived with his wife, Martha, and their two daughters, Barbara (aged 21) and Sally (aged 14) in Ocean Grove, California. While completing her studies at college, Barbara Simms eloped with Howie Dickerson, an intelligent but penniless graduate studying for his Masters degree in oceanography. Returning from Las Vegas, Barbara and Howie moved in with the Simms'. Stories centered around the bickering between Paul and Howie, and Paul's desperate attempts to find Howie a suitable job. Howie experienced constant badgering and objections from Paul about Howie's inability to support Barbara. Although the eccentric Howie was a genius with an IQ of 185, he lacked the common sense to function in the world of business. Howie's parents often made cameo appearances, and were played by comedy team Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. Three discs - 24 Episodes    $24.00
